Scrub potatoes in water, poke with a fork. Wrap in one layer of bacon. Wrap in foil shiney side toward the inside. Lay along the coals of the campfire, turning often with long tongs. Check for doneness by poking with a fork, when fork slides easily into the potatoes, take them out of the fire, serve with your choice of toppings, and save any leftovers to be reheated for breakfast.
Leftovers can be cut up, and mixed with scrambled eggs and cheese for a quick delicious breakfast.
Put hard salami on your camp grocery list. It's yummy in sandwiches, perfect as part of a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast and by frying a piece of the salami in your pan before cooking you'll harvest some grease to stir-fry veggies or keep eggs from sticking. No need for butter!
