Beer Fries
camping recipe
Category: Vegetables   Rating: N/A
Backpacking: No Effort: easy Serves: any Prep time: 30-60m

Ingredients:
  • beer
  • sliced Potatoes

How to Prepare:
I learnt how to make this the hard way!
I went camping and forgot an oil of some kind...
On average its one bottle of beer per potato.
Slice up the potato (it bakes its faster and easier). Poor 1/4 of the beer into a frying pan with the sliced potatos and as the beer seems to evaporate add more beer untill cooked to your liking

CAMPING TIP

In this tip I'll use the method and materials I used. I took a broken shovel handle and sawed off the splintered end and drilled a hole about two and a half, maybe three inches deep, right in the center.I then took a broken ro-tis-ary (I don't know how to actually spell it, so just sound it out.) and sawed off the end with a handle. I then took the spikes on the far end and slid them off the rod, and turned them to where the pointed ends were all facing the same direction. I tightened the prongs down as tight as possible, filled the hole about halfway with gorilla glue, and let it set over night. I now have a hotdog roaster that holds eight or more hot dogs, no telling how many marshmallows, and in survival situations, a fine fish or frog gig.
