Foil Stew
camping recipe

Category: Soups and Stews   Rating: N/A
Backpacking: No Effort: easy Serves: any Prep time: 30-60m

Ingredients:
  • Hamburger Meat
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Potatoes
  • Can of Tomato Sauce
  • Water
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • Tobasco Sauce (to taste)

How to Prepare:
Cook hamburger meat (can be substituted with any meat) over the fire.
Cut vegetables into chunks. It is up to you how you like them. Potatoes are best in thin slices.
Layer two pieces of tin foil and use your fist to shape into a bowl.
Put the vegetables into the bowl. The potatoes should go in first because they take the longest to cook. Add the meat, put the tomato juice on top with a bit of water to help soften the vegetables. Make a fun design with the top of the foil in order to remember which is yours...
Let it cook on an open fire for at least 30 minutes.
Goes great with smores!! Thanks Kennolyn!
