Foiled up!
camping recipe

Category: Beef   Rating: N/A
Backpacking: No Effort: easy Serves: 1-2 Prep time: 1-30m

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 lb hamburger meat
  • 1 potato, thinly sliced
  • 1 union, cut into wedges
  • ketchup
  • salt, pepper
  • seasoning of your choice

How to Prepare:
1. Get a large piece of foil and put all of your ingredients into it. That's right, all of them!
2. Fold the foil carefully around the pile, crimping and folding the edges so that you get a tight seal over the mess (wrap another piece of foil around it if you don't think the juices will stay in).
3. Carefully put the foiled container on the coals of your campfire (Not in the flames themselves!) Try letting it cook for about ten minutes on each side for about thirty minutes total.
4. Open it with some sticks not to burn yourself. Enjoy!!

CAMPING TIP

Freeze a gallon (or 2 or 3) bottle of distilled/drinking water. It has more cooling power than a bag of ice and you can drink the water when it is melted. You also won't get melt water in your cooler mixing with raw packaged meat.
