Using a paring knife, core the apple from the top, leaving a bit of apple at the bottom. Stuff apple with a mixture of brown sugar & raisins. Place stuffed apple in center on foil square. Fold edges up around apple, twisting together at top. Place wrapped apple on coals of campfire until apple is soft when poked with fork. Transfer apple to plate or eat right out of foil (with a fork). Stuffing is syruppy, but worth every bite.

A cotton ball covered with petroleum jelly is a great fire starter. Roll the balls in a jar of petroleum jelly until thoroughly covered, then pack the cotton balls in a film canister.
